Hi guys, So I’ve thought up a cool idea that I am going to be calling the cut, and the name is basically what it means, is a brand being innovative or still selling mermaid makeup, are the products, making the cut? It seems that it’s the same brands that are sending out the same PR and dominating the spectrum of online blog, and YouTube.
I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Tarte very much, they make good products and are consistent but I would love to be a fly on the wall of their morning meeting and see what influences them, why choose pineapples to represent your holiday collection and does more go into the packaging then what is inside of the package – the product and is it really a value.
Last year Tarte went for a buried treasure type theme with their holiday collection and this year it’s sweet escape which I do understand but for me and for a lot of others I don’t like to see flowers and palm trees – I like to see snow flakes and actually holiday memorabilia. Tarte Treasure Box Collector Set of last years holiday collection is a pretty standard, traditional release for the brand and sometimes a dreaded ones for fans because they quality isn’t quite what you get from their permanent launches and a lot of their Holiday Collection, over the last few years, has been made in China. The 2017 collection was made in the USA minus a few items within the packages like mini mascara, so am I to assume that Tarte did that for the fans, took a little bit off the bottom line and made it within the USA for us? Well that might be but last year verse all the other years there was a major increase in cost which is to be expected when made on your own soil.
So I am happy to say that the Sweet Escape is made in the USA, oh nope, they went back to China for the production of the 2018 holiday sets, so it leaves me confused, because the price is the same if not more as if they were to make it in the USA and 2018 has been a major year for Tarte they have made Millions, and are talking about by everyone especially influencers – could it be that nice apple watch that I got from Tarte with a couple of Shapetape concealers. I mean I’m not really into this collection. Summer is Summer, Winter is Winter, I’m not so into combing the two. I like snow and Christmas trees, and hot cocoa, and snowmen, I don’t want flamingos in my Holiday Collection, I get the Christmas in Hawaii theme going on but I’m just not feeling it, and the quality just isn’t there compared to their iconic Tarte Pro Palette which I absolutely love. They now have reverted to doing mega sets which I don’t have a problem with! It’s a good deal of bang for your buck however, if you’re an older fan of the brand it does become very repetitive.
So do you think Tarte’s Holiday Palette made The Cut?
