PR UNBOXING ➡️ YSL 2017 SUMMER COLLECTION 🌅

Hey guys. mother fu.. I just burnt my mouth on damn espresso so I’ve had a lot of support lately – and success – a company reached out to me for coded advertisement, yes that is the contact you can search forever and ever for but will never find they will watch you – in my case being a print blogger, as of now 🙏🏻 they watched me – watched my post, and more importantly asked about me yeah yeah yeah I knew they were doing it it’s called a background check but this is the big bucks for a blogger, social influencers and YouTuber. I have it all set up but I’m waiting to meet with someone who will show me how to properly bring them to life. More importantly, I’m in Welland right now and have been for the past couple of days, Daniel is with him father in Florida at their cottage or whatever getting it ready so I will be babe less for a week.

It’s really annoying to me in the gay community that when I’m in a relationship it’s like that’s when others want me to the most.

So this is maybe the best but also the worst we are both Cancers ♋️ AND if you have no idea your sign and what it actually means going back to your life here’s a small run down of a Male CancerDeeply intuitive and sentimental, Cancer can be one of the most challenging zodiac signs to get to know. They are very emotional and sensitive, and care deeply about matters of the family and their home. Cancer is sympathetic and attached to people they keep close. Those born with their Sun in Cancer are very loyal and able to empathize with other people’s pain and suffering.

ON TO THE MAKEUP UNBOXING!

Huge thanks to L’Oréal LUXE not just L’Oréal makeup for this box of new products – guess my meeting in New York went better then I thought.

First what I open the box what caught my eye the most was the FULL METAL SHADOW which is just a liquid eyeshadow but the most on trend of makeup I’ve ever seen in my almost ten (10) years. New shades are introduced to Full Metal Shadow, the high-lustre, intensity pigmented, shimmering eyeshadow that become a modern classic in the YSL Beauté stable of impactful eye colors. These contrasting new shades reflect the exotic colour crush of the Summer Look, and create a myriad of striking new effects only limited by the imagination but I’m not sure if I have all the ‘NEW’ shades because one looks an awful lot like a Christmas one but it’s in New York at the moment to reference – Introducing the first metallic color liquid eye shadow from YSL. Vibrant shades that last for up to 16 hours without creasing, flaking, or fading. This pigment-packed liquid shadow has been formulated with 40% water for a cooling effect and pure colour payoff. The exclusive applicator allows you to create three signature looks from a full lid, just the line or a graphic eye look.

So I was sent shade seventeen (17) GOLD SOURCE and eighteen (18) VIOLIT WAVE – gold source is almost like applying gold flakes perfect to the centre of the eye if you’re into the halo eye trend then you will need these full pigment liquids.

The finish is a fine, metallic film that adheres to the lids for long lasting wear. A strong colour finish is promised, however, this doesn’t seem overly evident in the shades that I have but I have used these with YSL on set before and they were the stealer of backstage so..

Next was ➡️ NAIL POLISH which was damn beautiful and claims promised came through massively.

JUNGLE ORANGE: the hot summer shade, a limited edition orange brings a sense of tropicality to the Solar Pop collection. Mix it with the Jungle Green, or wear as a sophisticated antidote to more traditional summer nail shades.

JUNGLE GREEN: verdant, modern, expressive. Lime green talons are beautiful as a full set, or as a single accent nail amongst the contrasting shade of Jungle Orange.

The colour payoff is going to last and last with these – I’m not the type of dude to wear nail polish but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to review it. I wish though for the price you can go to the drug store and find the same colours for a lot cheaper sadly.

Everything and I mean everything has a dupe out there and if you don’t care for the packaging or quality then happy hunting BUT I suggesting – if you can afford it. Buy it.

Interested in some hot double play? Well the next product I think is a must have for travel and for the makeup lover and collector because they will not be going past this collection.

A hybrid between a lip colour and a blush, this innovative air-whipped formula allows for an instant application on both lips and cheeks. With a luminous matte finish, colour is easily buildable from a soft and natural look to a more intense sophisticated look.

The patented “hidden pearl” applicator is customised to glide perfectly on the lips and to allow the optimal amount of formula to be dotted on the cheeks.

A range of playful shades to complement each cheeky side of the YSL Baby Doll woman.

ORANGE INTREPIDE: adds a pop of sun-kissed luminosity to cheeks or a gentle wash of color on the lips. Apply an extra coat and build to a dense orange.

PRO TIP ➡️ dot. dot. dot. blend with your fingers – perfect colour pay off.

A silky-matte bronzer that instantly gives skin an effortless natural glow without the shine. As if you were wearing nothing at all, Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones capture the power of the sun in a stone for the most natural sun-kissed tan. Without any additional weight or coverage, the ultralight matte powder blends seamlessly into skin, enhancing skin’s natural luminosity.

For the first time, Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones palette gets its own collector case, a limited edition piece of art for fans of the inimitable silky-matte bronzer. A shimmering snake skin, re-imagined in a vivid lime green. Exotic, eye-catching, the fire-coloured Cassandre logo leaps out, demand attention.

I think this is one area bronzing products have improved and this is a particular area I feel YSL Bronzing Stones stand out with – the creators have realised it isn’t just the shades, or actual colour and tones that need to be worked on, but the over all effect these products create, beyond just how dark they leave you. It is amazing how much better tanned, or bronzed skin will look, when it has a bit of a glow and sparkle to it, even if it is just a very light tan – this is especially the case with the glowing part. And YSL have certainly not skimped on the sparkle, or the glow.

SO – however pale, or light, you are, YSL is bringing everyone in on the latest seasons trends.

If you didn’t already know this, there are three main players in the game EstéeL’Oréal and SEPHORA and one a little smaller who sticks to “the best of the bestLVMH – Sure these are names that we all know but did you know that these three companies in various ways, own, run and sell the cosmetic and beauty industry. As we know them as popular makeup stores, and makeup brands they are massive companies at war every day trying to buy out every beauty brand they can and have diverse portfolio of brands, distributed internationally for example ➡️

Now that we got the companies and what they own covered be careful about what you say about one of the brands because they are all connected and linked, there are people who search social media to look for negative comments about brands and take note of the name, date, time posted and the actual comment – yes when you get in good with the four main beauty companies reviews are always honest and they don’t hold that against you for a product not working out for you (in fact most companies will pay you more for reviewing and testing a product that you didn’t enjoy for ‘time wasted’) there is always a contact us button with a email which will either be info@ or pr@ and you can introduce yourself that way but makeup you have the back up if your asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars of press samples on top of being paid.

Being a social influencer is a growing self business and when you make partnerships with one company you are put on the PR list so now all the brands will reach out to you if it fits and you can reach out to them if you have media outlet, photoshoots(with celebrities typically), press review, advertising. You really want to get your name out there, and work with the brands it helps to have them already know who you are by working in the filed, on set and for major publications. Always submit your portfolio and when emailing them have a good “email signature” it’s called for example mine is ➡️

➡️ You do not have to but I am always honest if I’m being sponsored to give my opinion just so that my viewers know, although being completely me and honest with the review not everyone like the fact of partnership with different brands or being set products for thousands of dollars and still being paid for your opinion but what a lot of people don’t understand is the amount of time it takes to get to a status I have with these companies and the networking, starting out doing things for free and making my way up the ladder. Don’t expect to have the door open for you, im just giving you a couple ways to get your foot in the door and information you should know – also if you reach out to a brand make sure you know the brand and know the history of the brand and how they started, where they started and what they offer. Make sure that you blog is found on google under relevant search terms. When you post about a product or brand, use keywords in your post title and when naming a image. PR sometimes find blogs by googling for bloggers already writing about the brand they’re working on, or sometimes they’ll look for people blogging about the brand’s direct competition. Ask to be added to mailing lists for press releases / respond to a press releases that are offering a sample by explaining how you would review the product.

TIP ➡️ BE PROFESSIONAL! NETWORK! EARN TRUST. Always ask for a WeTransfer when shipped products so you can have press information about the sent products.  If you don’t know WeTransfer I would google it.

COLOR CORRECTION : HOW and WHY?

We can all achieve skin goals with minimum to no effort at all – I’m not going to like I never got the whole high lighting trend, I mean yeah highlighters were created to highlight the high points of the face of as I was once told walk around like you always have ‘studio lighting’ on you and intense highlighting is not for everyone because it can just highlight your imperfections but anyways back to why we are here ➡️ color correction : the basics

I’ve been using TARTE : limited-edition color your world color-correcting palette which comes with concealer and highlighters which is why I mentioed highlighting in the first place

TARTE color your world color-correcting palette

Let’s break it down

PALE PINK : targets blue toned spots on fair – light skin

PEACH : neutralizes blue or purple (shadows)  on medium skin

ORANGE : cancels out dark areas on the skin

YELLOW : can be used to brighten, cancels out purple or darker tones or even get rid of dullness

GREEN : redness

LAVENDER : cancels out yellowish tones

(this palette has matte contour, matte highlight and champagne in place of some correction colors)

A lot of people who are new to makeup or do consider themselves to have a knowledge of makeup and makeup application might find a palette filled with all this colors to be a bit scary and they can be a bit pricey – so take a look at your bare skin and take a look and see if you have dark circles under the eyes that your concealer alone can’t tackle or half way through the day, you seem to see the lack of sleep creeping back up – cancel it out by lightly applying and orange base before applying your concealer.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ orange corrector in the world of drag queens is used after shaving to insure that no darkness shows through their makeup (five o’clock shadow)

Anywhere you see some redness, around the nose, post imperfections or even on your water line if you wake up tired or well, hung over but need to look dynamite apply the green shade! And then your normal routine on top of that. If you have fair skin, you’ll most likely be using the palest colors of the shade range when it comes to pinks, yellows, greens, and purples. If you have medium to olive skin, the color-correcting shades will also most likely be a touch darker than the pastel versions that, say, fair-skinned guys and girls would use. And for deeper skin tones, a darker-skinned person would use a more orangey peach hue not just orange mix and max to create the shade you need; the same rule goes for the greens, yellows, and purples.

I will also say some people do apply foundation or tinted moisturizer first and then apply color correction. Of course if you feel you only need one or two of the color correctors and not a full palette (which I promise you is the better investment for your hard earned money) I’ll show you some single products in the from drug store to high end.

Urban Decay Color Correcting Fluid in “Lavender,” $28; YSL Color Corrector in “Violet,” $38; Becca Targeted Correcting Cream in “Violet,” $30; Make Up For Ever Primer in “Blue,” $37; YSL Primer in “Lavender,” $45; Lancôme CC Primer in “Purple” $40
Lancôme CC Primer in “Green” $40; YSL Color Corrector in “Vert Green,” $38; Becca Targeted Correcting Cream in “Pistachio,” $30; Marc Jacobs Cover Stick in “Covert Affairs,” $42; Make Up For Ever Primer in “Primer,” $37; Urban Decay Color Correcting Fluid in “Green,” $28
Marc Jacobs Cover Stick in “Covert Affairs,” $42; City Color Correcting Stick in Yellow, $6; Make Up For Ever Primer in “Yellow,” $37; Lancôme CC Primer in “Yellow,” $40; Urban Decay Color Correcting Fluid in “Yellow,” $28
Lancôme CC Primer in “Peachy/Pink,” $40; L’Oréal Paris Skin Beautifier Anti-Fatigue BB Cream, $11; Urban Decay Color Correcting Fluid in “Pink,” $28; Make Up For Ever Primer in “Cool Pink,” $37; YSL Color Corrector in “Violet,” $38; Marc Jacobs Cover Stick in “Bright Now,” $42

Don’t forget if your on a budget or saving up there are brands like NYX, E.L.F, and LA GIRL.

Color-correcting isn’t for everyone. If you’re happy with the job your makeup does now, you don’t really need to mess with this whole thing but it’s a very good things to learn for just in case – the only people who might want to use the strategy daily are those who are bothered by their skin discoloration or if you want to have a perfect complexion. For everyone else, it’s one of those things you can save for life’s most photograph-worthy moments.

DON’T ➡️ Using color correction to change the undertone of your skin it is outdated and looks bizarre if done wrong and most of the time – it is. Now a days it’s so easy to figure out your base shade and work with it. Be happy in the skin you’re in. For Dark to African American there is a brand called BLACK | UP the palette contains concealers and color correctors to brighten darkness and smooth scars and flaws without making the complexion look washed out. The red shade in the one I had (there are three versions) was impressive – it made patchy areas around her mouth and eyes completely disappear under concealer. The popular Paris-based makeup line officially debuted in the USA in the fall, but now that it’s easily available here, you can expect to hear a lot more about it I bet in the future (it also makes me happy to see brands coming out for makeup specifically for Dark – African American skin tones! We are not all the same color, undertone or have the same skin needs. We are all unique and different and companies need to start to realize that because it makes me sad to see a company release thirty-five shades and the darkest it goes it to medium-tan.. really? BLACK | UP is available on sephora.com now.

NEW AND NOW ➡️ LANCÔME Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Foundation

Wow. Just wow. Mind fuck really.

Leave it to Lancôme to be the company to come out with this before anyone else(I do wish Armani, NARS or YSL came out with this)but nonetheless the technology is so cool! I feel so many men and women are endlessly trying out foundation colors trying to find the perfect match. Some get close, but I also find it’s not only the match it’s also the formula that has to be a match for your skin type and concerns. And since Lancôme has amazing skin care in their foundation did you know that almost 60% of your foundation is skin care and moisturizers for the skin.

When you start the ‘experience’ whomever is doing your consultation with the skin-scanner that detects all of the tiny micro pigments that make up your skin tone. The scanner reads three different areas of your face of your choice – pretty much the areas that you like the most, and then computes the perfect average in order to color match your custom foundation. This information in sent  into a computer where you are able to see your undertones and overtones, how much yellow or red is in your skin, and then, from there, it comes up with a recommendation or exact match of your skin colour.  Lancôme’s custom made machine is equipped with eight peristaltic pumps that create an air tight  blending and dispensing process – the liquid goes into another machine that shakes it up in hyper speed so that the colors blend seamlessly together and correct.

Lancôme Perfect Match Pigments
Making Lancôme Le Teint Particulier

Side note ➡️ don’t forget when you do the custom foundation experience you enter in your skin type (normal, oily, dry or combination) so it knows what skin treatmeant and moisturizers to add and you choose sheer, medium or full coverage so it knows how much thinner to add.

Lancôme Exact Match Foundation Machine

After it is done, if you are unhappy with the colour even though it is 99.8% accurate to creating your skin tone, you can, add more of a light or dark pigment until you’re happy with what you see. Without starting all over again which is ideal and nice.

You get a beautiful box, bottle, label with your name on it – a unique code that no one else will ever have as your shade ID so when(if) you want to replenish all you need is that unique shade ID all for only $80.00US or $100.00CAD which for the experience, consultation, packaging and knowing you have your skin colour perfectly matched in formula perfect for you, I’d say, well that’s an amazing price point.

Lancôme Le Teint Particulier

CURRENTLY if you wanted to try this it’s in select NORDSTROM which you can where around you by going to the Lancôme website or NORDSTROM website.

NEW AND NOW ➡️ MAKE UP FOREVER Ultra HD Concealer & ULTRA HD PRESSED POWDERMicrofinishing Pressed Powder

Ultra HD Concealer boasts a new Ultra HD-compatible formula with its unique 4K complex developed with pure focus pigments, radiance boosters and hyaluronic spheres. Sadly it’s only available in 10 shades – they claim every woman and man can find her(his) perfect fit but with so many complexion undertones and so many skin tones I find that a little hard to believe I was sent all ten in a PR package and I have used this product on myself for two weeks and on clientele.

Ultra HD Concealer brightens the face and eye area while maintaining a natural appearance. If you already use HD Concealer, don’t worry, they do have a shade matcher that will help you to find the new right Ultra shade matching with your previous one which I think was nice of MAKE UP FOREVER to do because when you change the entire line and formula and names, it’s hard to find your correct shade again.

This concealer is nice for cancelling out redness, hyper pigmentation, dark circles and imperfections but it’s not really that full coverage so if you’d like a full coverage concealer that does it all check out ➡️ my review on the NEW NARS matte concealer. (Link below)

MUFE ULTRA HD CONCEALER

ULTRA HD PRESSED POWDER Microfinishing Pressed Powder

MAKE UP FOREVER created this product for the very latest high-definition technologies of the film and TV industry, ULTRA HD advanced formulas look invisible on 4K camera and to the naked eye. Perfect for the makeup pros.

This is to be the last step to ULTRA HD perfection: ULTRA HD MICROFINISHING PRESSED POWDER is a finishing powder that gives a light matte effect and a smooth luminous finish but I find this product to be more matte then luminous. A real technical and sensory feat, this invisible veil of powder combines synthetic mica, silicone powders and silica to instantly blur fine lines, pores and imperfections for a beautifully smooth complexion. Also enriched with hyaluronic acid which is pretty cool because you can use hyaluronic acid for so many things, hydration, help to even put the skin so your skin looks more even when you take off your makeup and it even helps to lighten the skin.

For a perfect ULTRA HD compatible finish, use a very small quantity and blend evenly. Apply over make up or wear alone using a kabuki brush or a nice dense brush.

Now something to remember is it is a finishing powder so it comes in shades 01 translucent(fair skin tone), 02 banana(medium skin tone) and 03 peach(dark skin tone).  As your last step, it is a very good finishing powder.

PRO TIP ➡️ make sure you use a setting spray to get rid of that powdery look and bring life to your makeup and extends the wear of your makeup.

FIFTY SHADES DARKER – the book -the movie – the review. ⛔️spoilers ahead⛔️

With absolutely no expectations to uphold, the newest adaptation of author E.L. James erotic novel trilogyFifty Shades of Grey” leaves nothing to the imagination in more ways than one. Since its premiere in February of 2015, the trilogy has undoubtedly been one of the boldest series on the market. But the film adaptation of James’ striking bestseller still had a lot to prove after its first movie. “Fifty Shades Darkerthe second film of the series, picks up where the first one left off, even though some wish they just scrapped the series altogether after its introduction. Unfortunately for the team behind this latest offering, sticking to just reading the novels is a far better choice than going to see this flick for a horrendously large number of reasons. But if you did promise your significant other on Valentine’s Day that you would take them to see it, a word to the wise: leave the kids at home. Or better yet, just stay home – I know this might come off as a bit harsh but I promise you I don’t mean for it to, I was in love with the novel – and I thought the first movie was alright. I loved how it ended how it began (in the elevator opening and closing, Anastasia says ‘Christian’ after Christian says ‘Anastasia’)

Moving on ➡️

The film picks up on the lives of Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) after their recent break up. Grey falls in love with Anastasia and cannot let the likes of her new boss Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), an editor at Seattle Independent Publishing, get the best of his interests in her. The happenings with Christian’s former dominant, Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger) — the one who introduced him to BDSM — also made for a select few interesting plot twists. In the end, everything seems to end up all “hunky-dory”  but with an unexpected surprise in store.
But despite a limited number of exciting twists sprinkled throughout, this film fell victim to one of its predecessor’s biggest failings: the acting. If you examine the character credits online, none of the actors are really recognizable, or, let’s just say, none of them are Hollywood A-listers. Besides Dornan and Johnson, of course. Additionally, Dornan and Johnson only made names for themselves through starring roles in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy — barring some minor roles in other films.
One could suggest that the nature of the story keeps some of the reputable actors at bay, because they do not want to be associated with such a sexually-explicit movie. Then again, credit must be given where credit is due, because these are both demanding roles. Anastasia’s character demands a certain kind of paleness and innocence, which Johnson tries to give but ultimately comes up short. Dornan, who has less big ticket experience than Johnson despite his age, captures the shadiness and disabling nature of Christian effectively, but his character would honestly be better if it were written by Ian Fleming.
The young adult fiction genre has obviously been very successful in recent years in multi-part formats,  and has been dominating younger audiences worldwide. Although “The Divergent Series” is a monstrosity to young adult fiction, “The Hunger Games” and “The Maze Runner” series have gathered widespread acclaim for their rich stories and accurate adaptations. The reason why the “Fifty Shades of Grey” may have not received such success is because it panders to a very specific audience (after all, it is rated R) and not to mention, it’s a little hard to digest. If the books catered to young adult readers, it may have been more successful, but since the tone they took was dark and erotic, it may have scared some people away from the theaters when they decided to produce movies.
The sad thing is that Dornan and Johnson may find this unforgiving series hard to shake off after the finale “Fifty Shades Freed” which is expected to debut next February. Both movies so far have waltzed into the black at the box office despite their daunting challenges with filmmaking and marketing. Still, E.L. James’ series may have best been left for print, where readers imaginations can run wild with images of eroticism and salaciousness. “Fifty Shades Darker” was another disappointment that has scarred the series legacy, so keep your finger crossed for the conclusion.
