Hi guys, before we get into this, I have one question – how are you? Jeans, white t-shirts, blue jeans, cell phone, what do you think of when you think about those things, the basics right? Concealer is a basic for me, I just love it, I love everything about concealer and what you’re able to achieve with it. Concealers can often be either too chalky, too thin, too sparkly, or too flat. Sometimes the simplest move is right when it comes to makeup and if you have to overthink it maybe it’s not right for you.
I was looking at all of my concealers, and I thought to myself, do I have a problem with concealers? I tell myself that I am just collecting all of them but really, am I really? So grab your concealer and coffee and lets get to the basics of concealer, and you.
For Sensitive Skin there are so many options out there, I personally do not have sensitive skin but honestly tell me what is the harm in using a concealer for sensitive skin it can only keep the skin from any irritation – If you have redness from sensitive skin, this concealer is the dream because it’s incredibly neutralizing and during this time of year, it’s very common to have redness from things like broken capillaries around the nose and along the cheeks – that’s when you want to go with a product with cooler undertones like Urban Decay NAKED SKIN – If you’re looking to conceal red, sensitive skin, this is my number one recommendation my next category and this one kind of go hand and hand.
For Hyperpigmentation & Acne Scars A good full coverage concealer usually manages to cover most scars, but sometimes, extra measures need to be taken such as color correcting (COLOR CORRECTION : HOW and WHY?) and there are a bunch of really, really good color corrector out there but MAYBELLINE has one from the Master Camo like that works so amazing. Just blend one over your problem areas and top it off with a light dab of your favorite concealer to disguise the color. What scars? What sun spots? What redness?
For Dark Undereye Circles there is so many good ones but I’m going too have to say NARS soft matte complete concealer is going to change your concealer game, it comes in shades that employ peach, apricot, or orange tones to cancel out the purple – blueish hues. I also like that its in a pot because of the type of brush that I would use while applying this concealer – I guess a doe-foot would be a little better but hey what can we do! Also NARS Radiant Creamy concealer is a cult favorite because the creamy texture glides on smoothly, making for easy application, but dries matte.
Even the best undereye concealers can veer dry, powdery, and too matte, which only ends up accentuating what you’re trying to hide in the long run. This full coverage, waterproof option does no such thing. Rather, it adds a subtle radiance (not sparkle) to the area that you didn’t even know you needed, and that would be Bye-Bye Under eye by IT! cosmetics.
Multipurpose Concealing I would reach for Urban Decay ALL NIGHTER – I mean the packaging alone was why I had to have this, and don’t get it wrong, if I see something I like I will go out and buy it and then if it doesn’t come in PR I won’t worry to much about it but – Perhaps most importantly, the slight tackiness means it holds up throughout the day, but it’s creamy enough that it looks completely natural.
For break outs and acne in general there is Bye-Bye Breakout from IT! Cosmetics and despite this concealer’s medium-but-buildable coverage, it feels light as air on the skin. Plus, it contains a slew of oil-absorbing and zit-fighting ingredients like kaolin clay, tea tree oil, and sulfur. There is also an amazing setting or face powder from this line that I used to always use so even your most stubborn breakouts will be safely hidden.
For oily skin there is KVD lock it concealer a full-coverage concealer that feels lightweight, but has the power to cover even the darkest tattoos – and hormonal breakouts my sister tells me! Never thought I would meet a concealer I didn’t have to set with powder — until I used this. Even better, it’s such a full coverage formula that you can use as a foundation replacement, just dot over just-moisturized skin and blend but it dries to a very matte finish. This does-it-all concealer masks dark spots and undereye circles, but also has a built-in primer at its core to blur imperfections and leave skin with a velvety finish.
So there you go covers almost all the areas that you’d need the only one I’m missing is mature skin but that is because I have something coming that needs it’s own post! also know that you are in good hands when it comes to these recommendations because I have tested them all as I do not wear foundation much.
